He becomes broken and his beilief in his master wavers, but because there is no proof, Sinjid concludes that Kazuro killed him for selfish purposes. Kazuro explains his side of the story he noticed that Fujin was suspiciously kind to his students, and considering that he has had taken many orphans under his care, he concluded that the Imperial Army orphaned many children during times of war, and that Fujin himself murdered their parents in cold blood. He warns him about the dangers present, and he heads off on his quest to find Kazuro.He finds Kazuro, and is horrified to learn that he was the one who killed Fujin. He heads back to the Old King, and they conclude that Kazuro is in Shiroda. Sinjid, angry at the traitor for stooping so low, kills her. Kasumi explains that Kazuro gave her the option to join her side or die, and that she gladly joined him, having decided that she has had enough of Lord Masaru and his agenda. Sinjid beats the retainer, and receives a big surprise during his pursuit of Kazuro: Kasumi, the deadliest Shinobi in the Imperial Army, has been persuaded by Kazuro into joining his side. Failing that, he states that the two are more similar than he realizes, and leaves, ordering his retainer to hold him off. Sinjid angrily asks him if he was the one who killed Fujin, and Kazuro tries to reason with him. Kazuro tells Sinjid how he knows him: like Sinjid, he was an orphan who was taken in by Fujin, but left while Sinjid was young, which is why he doesn't remember him. They decide that Ishisan would be a better hiding place because it's so quiet, and the king becomes saddened by the fact that he fled when he should have retained his honor and fought Kazuro instead, but Sinjid reassures him that there is no shame in self-preservation, and heads off.When he reaches Ishisan, he finds Kazuro. Lord Haruki explains that he built two castles for Kazuro: one in Ishisan and one in Shiroda. He persists, and the two fight to the death. Sinjid asks the retainer Lord Tetsuo where he can find Lord Haruki, but he refuses to tell him, stating that he is not to be disturbed. The Old King directs Sinjid to the Haruki residence, stating that Lord Haruki may know where Kazuro is hiding, as he built a castle for him once, but warns him that the retainers and priests are not to be taken lightly.
